Now, you can start climbing the stairs to see the monument. Turn around first for a great view of Bucharest. On the left side you will see the House of People or the Romanian House of Parliament, the gigantic building Nicolae Ceausescu needed to legitimate his dictatorship and criminal political regime. In fact, the Anonymous Hero Monument was, symbolically, stolen by the communists who put inside it the bodies of their leaders for more than 40 years.
