Cismigiu Park in Bucharest was a dirty and muddy lake on its place, with underground water sources, in the mid 17th century. A will was built here in 1779 and the houses of the great ministry of waters at that time, Dumitru Suiulgi-basa, called the great Cismigiu, which in Romanian was the waters and wills owner. The area has been a danger for the public health until 1830 and it was also a danger because the floods provoked by the River Dambovita and the like itself. One of the youngest, let’s say, parks in Bucharest is the CIRCUS PARK, where you can see rare trees, flowers and the famous turtles in the lake in the area.
