WHAT TO DO IN CISMIGIU GARDENS

THE OLDEST PARK IN BUCHAREST

If you are in the center of Bucharest city and you don’t know what to do, don’t miss Cismigiu Garden, the oldest garden or park in the capital of Romania. It is not so large as Herastrau Park or Carol Park, but Cismigiu Garden is the right place to spend a great afternoon in summer before dinner, for example.

Then, go on and enjoy your walk. If you go on the path on your right you will soon find the Romanian National Poet’s fountain, Mihai Eminescu. In summer, on your left,

you will see the lake and a small natural habitat for different kind of beautiful birds. There are also statues to visit, nearby Eminescu’s fountain in Cismigiu Park Bucharest.

LUNCH IN CISMIGIU PARK BUCHAREST

In the Roman Circle there are the statues of great Romanian writers and the place where check players meet. Don’t forget, in winter, Cismigiu lake becomes a spectacular rink. You can stop and have something to eat or just have a beer or a fresh fruit lemon at the restaurants inside Cismigiu Garden in a relaxing break.

The ruins are also a good place to have photos. From the so-called fortress you will have a great view of the park.

Some people come to Cismigiu for a break, reading a book or having lunch, or simply walking. You can also take a boat and row or paddle.

It is funny and safe. Bikes, children playing, dogs are to be seen everywhere but also groups of people to debate news, they all create a peaceful, familiar place right in the middle of Bucharest.

After this journey you can stop at Gambrinus. It is one of the oldest breweries in Bucharest, the last thing on to do in Cismigiu Garden.
