In 2021, finally, the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is open for visitors. There are new entrance fees and new rules for tourists due to covid-19 pandemics. The Deputy Chamber of the Romanian Parliament decided that tourists will pay more to visit the headquarters of the Parliament in Bucharest. The new tariffs will be paid since July 1, 2018. What does this mean?

Since July 1, 2018, for a visit to the Romanian Palace of Parliament, or House of People as it is known, built by Nicolae Ceausescu quickly in the 80s’, before the revolution and his death, you will have to pay 40 RON for an adult standard tour. Now, it is only 35 RON. 40 RON means less than 1 Euro. If you want to visit the underground part of this huge building, you will have to buy tickets for the entire tour which is 45 RON and not 40 as it is today. Students between 19 and 26 years old will no longer pay for a standard tour 18 RON as they should pay today, but 20 RON, which is about 50 Euro-cents. If the tour includes a quick view in the underground of the ex-communist power, the ticket is 23 RON, not 19 as it is today. Visiting the House of People in Bucharest or the Palace of Parliament is no longer free for children. The tax for photo and video, which was 30 RON was abolished, being included in the ticket. Don’t forget, inside the Palace of Parliament, you can also visit the Contemporary Art Museum in Bucharest where you can see collections and exhibits from nowadays artists.
