ANCIENT ARTIFACTS BROUGHT TO BUCHAREST BY DOCTOR GEORGE SEVEREAU TO COMPLETE HIS ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXHIBIT

One of the items is the head made of white marble portraying the Emperor Traian, the one who conquered Dacia in 106 A.D., the starting point of the Romanian People. There are even more archaeological pieces to see here, like beautiful ceramics from the most famous cultures known on the territory of Romania: Cucuteni, Vadastra or Wittenberg. According to the authorities, many items were bought and brought for his collection by Dr. George Severeanu while traveling to Italy, Greece or Bulgaria. Some were also found in Romania.

VISIT THE ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM AREA IN BUCHAREST

This museum is worth visiting also for the numismatic collection. You will see two coins related to Vlad the Impaler and the Old Court of Bucharest and which were used in the 15th century in the Romanian Country. He is also said to have built tunnels from his castle to southern Bucharest where nowadays you can walk in YOUTH PARK. This information has never been confirmed by the authorities. Severeanu house, the museum was officially opened in 1956. Now, the Severeanu Museum houses temporary archaeological exhibitions.
