MONUMENTS FOR HEROES WHO FOUGHT AGAINST COMMUNISM

The fight against communism started in Romania in 1945 when the new political regime was installed by the Russians after WW 2. There had been armed guerrillas in the mountains who fought against the security forces to late 60’s. Yet, the civilians’ uprising in 1989 was something different( learn more on Wikipedia). People could no longer resist the lack of food, of civil rights, of a good health system, of everything would offer a decent life.

In the same time communism fell in Europe in 1989 and the Romanian knew that from different radio channels, despite the state control over media which now can be noticed only in Northern Korea. All the martyrs who found their death while trying to have a better life and change an oppressive regime are commemorated in Bucharest. See first the REVOLUTION SQUARE IN BUCHAREST.
