Taxis in Bucharest are yellow. They can be hailed in the street if their green light on the roof is on but are also to be found in prominent places, like squares. They can also be booked by telephone or via mobile apps. Fares are metered. You should better have cash for not too many accept payment by credit or debit card. You can tip taxi drivers as much as you like. Beware of the fake taxi drivers. You may be approached by such private drivers offering a service. Fake taxis in Bucharest not legal and not safe either, so you should better avoid them especially at night.

TAXI PRICE IN BUCHAREST

Taxi price in Bucharest, Romania is quite alright and, since the city is not as big as London or Paris, let’s say, it worth paying a taxi to take you, as quick as traffic allows, from Old City Center to your hotel, or from one museum to another. Please notice that the rush hours means 8 to 9 A.M. and 18 to 19 P.M. If you really need to go out and visit the city and you need a taxi for that, you’d better think twice. The traffic in Bucharest is a nightmare in rush hours especially during autumn and winter. Now, learn more about the prices.

For example, Leone Taxi will ask for 1,39 RON for km, which, in euro, is less than 50 euro-cent for one kilometer in Bucharest. They have the same tariff during the day and night. If you need the driver to wait for you, keep in mind this means 13,9 RON per hour, which is more than 2,5 euros per hour.

Cobalcescu Taxi has the same fare, 1,39 RON per km and 13,9 RON if you need the driver to wait for you one hour. Cobalcescu Taxi Bucharest recently introduces a new offer – TAXI PLUS – which means more comfort, more speed and so on. The difference is 1,95 RON per km.

Speed Taxi will ask for 1,39 RON per km too. They have 2500 cars and. For premium orders, you will have to pay 3,49 RON the departure, 3,49 RON per km and 34,90 RON per hour if the driver will be asked to wait for you.

CrisTaxi is the oldest taxi company in Bucharest. The fare is also 1,39 RON per km and 13,90 per hour if you need the driver to wait for you.
