EASIER WAY TO TRAVEL BY SUBWAY IN BUCHAREST

The company responsible for the underground transport in Bucharest  offers its clients new ways to get from one place to another. Thus, according to Metrorex, inhabitants, local and foreign tourists can use the access Bucharest new subway tickets available for only one trip, at 5 RON. This is 1 EURO. If you get out of the subway, you will have to buy one more such card from pay-points.

• One trip – general use ticket bought from offices inside stations – no timing – 1 EURO
• Two trips – general use ticket bought from offices inside stations – no timing – 2 EUROS
• Ten trips – general use ticket bought from offices inside stations – no timing – 8 EUROS

SPECIAL PASS AND TIMING ON BUCHAREST SUBWAY

You can buy a special pass. Pay attention because there is a timing on it, 15 minutes. This means that once you used it to enter the subway, you cannot use it on the same purpose for the following 15 minutes.

• 24 hours pass – general use ticket – 15 minutes timing – 2,1 EUROS
• 72 hours pass – general use ticket – 15 minutes timing – 7 EUROS
• Weekly pass – general use ticket but nominal – 15 minutes timing – 9 EUROS

BUCHAREST SUBWAY AND BUS TICKETS

On the other hand, now you have alternatives. Since the summer of 2021, you can use the same ticket also for surface transport and subway transport. It is the Active Card where you can charge maximum 50 RON. It allows you to use both trams, buses, trolleys and metro for 7 RON and travel 120 minutes. You can find details on METROREX WEBSITE. After that, you have to validate your card again. If you are in the subway and those 120 minutes had passed, you need not to do anything.  A NEW PASS AVAILABLE BOTH FOR SUBWAY AND BUSES IN BUCHAREST!
