Update September 30: Romania is at the top level of new infections with covid-19: more than 12,000 new people infected. In Bucharest, the contamination rate is up to more than 6 and new restrictions are on the way.
Update September 21: the highest number of infected persons in 2021 – 6.789 today. Almost 1.000 people need special assistance in hospitals due to covid-19. In Bucharest, there were reported 1.048 new patients in the last 24 hours.

UPDATE APRIL 2021: GOOD NEWS ABOUT CORONAVIRUS IN BUCHAREST
In the entire country have been reported this day 9,242 persons infected with the new coronavirus. There are also 482 dead. In Bucharest, 1,033 people got infected with coronavirus, according to the last information. Everything is closed, except food stores and drugstores.
UPDATE CORONAVIRUS BUCHAREST APRIL 6:
All flights are cancelled from and to Austria, US, UK, Netherlands, Turkey, Iran, Switzerland and Belgium. In Romania there are 168 dead, now when we are talking. Bucharest is almost isolated due to coronavirus. The streets are empty, restaurants, theaters and pubs closed. According to military order 7, flights are also cancelled to Italy until April 20, Spain until April 14, Germany and France to April 22.
UPDATE MARCH 29 BUCHAREST CORONAVIRUS
Romania has reported more than 1,700 persons confirmed with the new coronavirus and 40 dead. In Bucharest there are 120 infected. All the parks and gardens are closed which is rather sad.
UPDATE MARCH 18 BUCHAREST CORONAVIRUS
About 90 persons are, officially, infected with coronavirus in Bucharest. All pubs are closed, also the restaurants and the city is almost isolated.
UPDATE MARCH 10 BUCHAREST CORONAVIRUS: 8 persons are, officially, infected with coronavirus in Bucharest, according to the latest data from the authorities. There are many members of the same family, but also, a 41 year old woman who returned from Germany on March 7, a 27 year old man who came from London on February 27 and 2 women, 35 and 36 year old who returned from Israel on February 29. UPDATE MARCH 9 BUCHAREST CORONAVIRUS: another three persons who work inside the Government are suspected to be infected with coronavirus. They were in contact with a contaminated person and are now tested for the virus. There are, officially, only TWO persons infected in Bucharest, just like yesterday. Meanwhile, all direct flights to and from Italy are cancelled on all Romanian airports. No other restrictions are available in Bucharest, yet you might expect to find some of the pubs in the Old City closed because of the same coronavirus.
UPDATE MARCH 8 BUCHAREST CORONAVIRUS: the second person infected with coronavirus in Bucharest is safe under doctors’ command in a hospital. It is a 42 years old woman. In Romania there are, as we speak now, 15 persons with coronavirus.

Anyway the authorities have decided some emergency rules to avoid any contamination. So, if you have breathing problems when you arrive on the International Airport in Bucharest, you should see immediately the doctor who is at your disposal at Otopeni, inside the airport. Also, when you visit the city, you should avoid crowded places and, especially, people who seems to have coronavirus or flu.
